Omar Wahab has 14 years of experience in Education and holds an M.A. in artificial intelligence, natural language processing, University of Sulaymaniyah. He is an experienced professional with a strong background in the field of education and humanitarian work. He has been actively involved with UNICEF since 2014, serving as an Education specialist in Iraq. Before joining the UNICEF Iraq country office, He served as a primary school teacher for three years, from 2011 to 2013, where he taught the basic grammar of the Kurdish language. His dedication to providing quality education services to vulnerable children, including IDPs, refugees, and host community children, is evident in his work.
He focuses on ensuring access to formal and non-formal education, particularly for out-of-school children and those at risk of dropping out. He played a vital role in the development of the back-to-learning platform and actively supported the implementation of the door-to-door campaign throughout Kurdistan in the past years. His efforts successfully re-enrolled thousands of children back into school through these initiatives.
